We encourage individuals and groups to help stock the Cottage Thrift Shop’s shelves by donating gently used clothing, furniture and household goods. Local retail businesses are invited to donate excess inventory, which can be used by our residents or for resale.
If you have a flair for retail and would like to help us price, sort and merchandise items, we invite you to join us at the Shop.
To make a donation of items, schedule a pick up, or volunteer at the Cottage Thrift Shop, please call Sandy Hatcher, Cottage Thrift Shop Manager, at 713.328.1957.
“I have worked with The Women’s Home for seven years, and from a personal standpoint, I don’t know of any other organization that’s so welcoming and open to volunteers’ variety of gifts and talents. Each of the WholeLife program’s areas of wellness lends itself to specialized assistance. Volunteers help with classes on money management, teach fitness, act as spiritual partners, and, like me, offer computer training. If you have a skill, they’ll find a way to use it. And there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing your special gift help smart and capable women get back on their feet.”
