Becoming a Resident

Becoming a resident at The Women’s Home is not easy, nor is it a simple decision.  It requires commitment, dedication and serious work—part of the reason for our high success rate.

A resident of The Women’s Home must be willing to work towards her potential by learning to rely on herself for income and self-growth.  During her stay here, she is given the opportunity to restore her independence by participating in a structured, long-term residential program of counseling and training.

Women are primarily referred by hospitals, drug treatment centers and social service agencies and are accepted by application without regard to ethnic background or religious affiliation.

At The Women’s Home, a woman develops self-confidence and independence and earns income and a place in society.  As a result of her own efforts, doors open.

To enroll in The Women’s Home program,
a woman must:

  • Be between 22 and 60 years of age
  • Commit to a 6 to 18 month program
  • Participate in group, family and individual counseling
  • Seek vocational/educational assistance
  • Have a minimum of 90 days sobriety from drugs/alcohol and abstinence from harmful behaviors to herself
  • Be able and willing to function in a structured program
  • Allow herself 60 days without employment to focus on counseling, classes and other aspects of the program
