A Commitment to Education
The Women’s Home believes that overcoming Houston’s homeless and mental health care crisis requires a commitment to educating future mental health professionals. As a part of this commitment, The Home is proud to be a training site for psychiatric residents from Baylor College of Medicine, as well as graduate and undergraduate students from the University of Houston campuses, the University of Texas School of Nursing, Our Lady of the Lake University, and Texas Southern University.
Our internship program provides real-world, hands-on mental health training to some of the best and brightest students in the Houston area. Interns are fully integrated into our programs and work side by side with our experienced staff, learning important professional skills while serving some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
