Lend a helping hand at our Cottage Shop

The Cottage Shop is our resale boutique and also a vocational training site located in the heart of Montrose. Our volunteers help by receiving, sorting, and processing donations to get them ready for the sales floor. We have weekday and weekend volunteer opportunities available to accommodate your group’s schedule.

Hold a supply drive for clothing, food, or school supplies

Community groups are welcomed and encouraged to host food or school supply drives to help us meet the needs of the residents at our Spring Branch campuses. We always need non-perishable food, diapers, feminine hygiene products, school supplies and cleaning supplies. This is a great avenue for groups who want to help, but may not be able to coordinate schedules to volunteer on-site. Our Cottage Shop resale boutique, which serves as a vocational training site for women in our treatment program runs solely on clothing donations from the community. If you have a group that is looking to purge their closets, this is a great way to support The Women’s Home. For more information on which types of item donations we can accept, please visit our Cottage Shop page.

Host an activity for our clients and residents

Our Spring Branch housing complexes, Jane Cizik Garden Place and Adele and Ber Pieper Family Place, support women and families transitioning to independent living. They appreciate when we host fun, sober, and positive activities such as game nights, movie nights, resume workshops, and more. The possibilities are endless!

Be a holiday host

Holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, and Mother’s Day can be difficult for our clients and residents, so we try to create as many fun, positive experiences as we can at these times. This is a great opportunity for groups to host a holiday social, game night, or other engaging activity.

Sponsor a client graduation

Once per quarter, The Women’s Home hosts a graduation and awards banquet honoring current clients and graduates of our program. This event focuses on honoring our clients’ accomplishments and milestones on their path to recovery.  We invite community partners to sponsor by selecting a theme, providing volunteer support at the event, and purchasing desserts, decorations, and door prizes.

Build-your-own volunteer experience

Throughout the year, we often have other needs and volunteer opportunities for groups with special skills. In the past, we have had groups who gardened, built structures, redecorated our facilities, and more. If you have a unique volunteer idea in mind, please reach out to us, and we can explore the possibilities.
